One of our country’s greatest newspaper cartoonists, Homer Davenport, grew up in Silverton, Oregon where every summer they celebrate Homer Davenport Days.
This year, Silverton historian Gus Frederick (pictured above) wants to make available for sale a reprint version of Cartoons By Homer Davenport, which first came out in 1898.
The Davenport Project’s Kickstarter page is here.
I write about the Davenport Project because Homer is one of Oregon’s first pop stars. If he had been born just a little later, I am convinced he would have become an animator.
Rush over to The Davenport Project’s Kickstarter page, and consider supporting their campaign.
