Penny Allen came to film via theater. All three of her films (Property, Paydirt and The Soldier’s Tale) are personal expressions of social and political engagement.
Allen is also the author of Geography of Saints: A Memoir and editor of Metaphors for Change: Partnerships, Tools and Civic Action for Sustainability.
In the above photo, Allen examines her exhibit War Is Hell, at the Mark Woolley Gallery in Portland. Allen currently lives and works in Paris.
