Ginger Rogers (born Virginia Katherine McMath) became an Oregon actress after she had achieved fame, and an Oscar, for her performance in Kitty Foyle in 1940. She moved to a ranch north of Medford soon after that.
The ranch was named the 4R’s: Rogers’ Rogue River Ranch.
She lived there, and later in Medford itself, for the next fifty years. Oregon Movies, A to Z urges all Oregonians to take pride in Ginger’s film legacy, which encompasses nearly 60 years of stardom.
